Before my brother got cancer, he was an active mountaineer. When I was formulating the concept for this project, a friend suggested asking my brother which peaks along the Alaska to Chile route he wished he could climb. I’m so glad I did. Six weeks after we crafted “Mickey’s List”, my brother passed away.
Mickey and I talked about 11 peaks originally, 6 of which he already climbed. Although time consuming, I’ll try to summit as many as I can, to gain experience for Denali, the grand poo-bah of the list:
Shasta(Completed!) Hood(Completed!) Rainier(Completed!)
- El Misty (Chachanie)
Green = Peaks Mickey didn’t climb.
At the top of each summit I will leave a small stone cairn in memorium of Mickey. The Cairn will have a green rock on the top, so future climbers will know “The SpokenCoast Project was here”.
If you would like me to place a memorial message to someone you love at the top of any of these peaks, or another other mountains along the coastal route, get in touch with us right away.
If you’d like to join me on a climb or sponsor me to climb a peak, contact The SpokenCoast Project right away! Your help would be welcome and appreciated.
