Denali Denied
I’ve been putting off writing this post since I moved to Colorado on February 11th. But, it must be done. Several days before I left Chicago, I got a phone call from my friend who was organizing our Denali team. She said the team never gelled, and her new business… Read On

Denali. Twenty. Thirteen. Committed.
Most of last Autumn, as the holidays approached and I braced myself for the floodgates of grief to open, I felt lost. I was utterly confused. The mercury retrograde in November spanked my hind quarters. I had no idea where I was going or what the next right thing to… Read On

August 24-26: Mt. Baker!
Thanks to a wonderful grant from the American Alpine Club through their “Live Your Dreams” program, I’m heading to Mt. Baker in 3 weeks. A few hours North of Seattle, Mt. Baker is 10,778 ft, and the trailhead starts around 2500′, making the summit an elevation gain of about 8200′.… Read On

What I Learned on Mt. Rainier
Here’s post #2 about the Mt. Rainier summit. It seems like the summit happened 10 years ago. Life in Point Hope, AK has taken over everything. Living in the moment never felt so good. But, it all started on Mt. Rainier. Climbing a 14,000 foot mountain requires flexibility, yet discipline.… Read On

Mt. Rainier Summit Success!
Hello great readers! I’m super excited to report that I successfully summited Mt. Rainer on August 12, 2011 approximately at 6AM. It was really fantastic! The previous 4 days were spent learning crevasse rescue techniques with the RMI school. The three instructors, Adam, Andy, & Timmy were wonderful, very knowledgeable,… Read On

Mt. Rainier Memorial
It’s finally happening, in just 2 short days I’ll be learning cravasse rescue on Mt. Rainier with the RMIĀ guide company. This is also the first time I’ll be creating a memorial for my brother, Mickey. I still have to spray paint some rocks green, so people can know which… Read On
